Cruise shipping to Amsterdam on the rise22 December 2005AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands – In 2005, cruise shipping has further gained in importance for Amsterdam and the whole of the port region. This year, Amsterdam and its surrounding area have received 105 sea-going cruise ships carrying a total of 127,000 passengers, as well as 780 river cruise ships carrying a total of 150,000 passengers. In doing so, this region has broken the records set in 2004, when 102 sea cruise ships with 116,600 passengers and 698 river cruise ships paid a visit.

Here Hitachi assembles earthmoving equipment and machinery using components shipped in from around the world. The expansion will help streamline Hitachi’s business process, which will boost production capacity by 70 percent and also provide more added value.
