Amsterdam's ArenA is a magnificent modern stadium for soccer and mass cultural events. Ajax and the American football club Amsterdam Admirals are regulars here.The Olympic Stadium has been completely renovated and has a new athletics track. The new Sloterparkbad is used for international swimming competitions and the Vélodrome at the Sloten-Oost sports park for bicycle racing. Amsterdam has numerous covered facilities for grand sports events including the Sporthallen Zuid, the Ice hall at the Jaap Edencomplex, the Apollohal and the RAI complex. Competitions for the rowing elite are regularly organised on the bosbaan 

The ING Amsterdam Marathon is held annually, in which many top athletes participate.
