Treasure Box by Meltem Ulbegi is the 9th ART-on-a-BOX container. During the "Uitmarkt 2008" in the last weekend of August on the Java-island the container was finished and shown to the public.  

Meltem Ulbegi (1970) graduated in 2004 with distinction from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. In her art Meltem draws inspiration from old miniatures and early medieval work, combining elements and symbols from different cultures.

Her Treasure Box refers to the underwater world of the port and she symbolises the ingrained relationship between port and city through combining underwater animals and stylish tulip motifs.
