TOC Europe 2007 took place in Istanbul, and the exhibition/conference attracted well over 1,500 participants. Some 89% of visitors found a new product or service they were interested in at the event.

June 17

On the opening day, June 17, you will be able to take a helicopter view of things: the outlook for Europe and global opportunities/challenges. This input will come from senior industry analysts, ocean carriers, port and terminal operators and hinterland service providers

June 18

On June 18, three parallel conference streams will cover:

• Marine terminal operations and technology – including waterside productivity, automated container handling, as well as how to manage terminal conversion, expansion projects and workforce planning
• Strategic port development challenges – including finance, ports in the supply chain and port sustainability
• A new hotspot market focus, giving detailed insight into regional trade development

June 19

June 19 will present unrivalled networking opportunities – including two evening receptions; a major exhibition of port products and services; as well as an optional Amsterdam terminal tour.

During TOC, the 8th ART-on-a-BOX container will be unveiled. ART-on-a-BOX is a PR project promoting the Port of Amsterdam as a container port and a global logistics hub. Over a four-year period, twelve Amsterdam-based artists are producing paintings on twelve actual shipping containers. This particular “art container” is by artist Rob Schotsman. The colorful artwork shows the skylines of Amsterdam and Shanghai, thereby highlighting the ties between the two port cities.
