Weekly ro-ro service between Amsterdam and Finland

At the beginning of 2008, UPM Seaways (parent company of UPM-Kymmene) began an improved weekly service between Amsterdam and Hamina in Finland. On Mondays, the ships sailing on this route unload and load at the Scandiaterminal, operated by VCK Logistics in the Suezhaven (Suez Port), which is part of the Port of Amsterdam.

Port of Amsterdam shows continued growth

In 2007, the cargo throughput in the whole Amsterdam Port Area (consisting of the Ports of Amsterdam, Zaanstad, Velsen/IJmuiden and Beverwijk) grew by 1.5% from about 84.4 million metric tons to roughly 85.7 million tons, according to preliminary figures.
