Port of Amsterdam is main sponsor of Intermodal 2007

From December 4 through 6, Amsterdam will host Intermodal 2007. This major international event is widely seen as the most important meeting-place for the intermodal and container industries. The Port of Amsterdam is the principal sponsor of the event to be held at the Amsterdam RAI Congress & Exhibition Center.

Port of Amsterdam maintains strong momentum in first half of 2007

 In the first 6 months of 2007, cargo throughput in the Port of Amsterdam rose by 6.7 percent to reach 34.5 million metric tons. The volume achieved over the same period last year was 32.3 millions tons. The figures include Amsterdam-bound cargo (primarily coal) loaded onto lighters (smaller ships) at the IJmuiden canal locks. The strong growth occurred in particular in the transshipment of coal and containers.
