DHVG is to develop large distribution center in the port of Amsterdam

DHVG and the Port of Amsterdam have reached an agreement on the development of a 110,000-square meter distribution center in the Westpoort Haven, which lies in the Port of Amsterdam. DHVG will realize the distribution center - named Districenter Afrikahaven - on a risk-bearing basis.

Bigger OOCL ships visiting Ceres Paragon container terminal in Amsterdam

Thursday, March 8 saw the first visit of an OOCL-operated 8,000-TEU container ship to the Ceres Paragon container terminal in Amsterdam. The ship concerned is the OOCL Shenzhen, which sails on the EU2 service between Western Europe and China via the Middle East. The EU2 service is operated by the Grand Alliance - a joint venture between four shipping companies, namely Hapag Lloyd, NYK, MISC and OOCL.

New ro-ro ship Höegh Shanghai makes its maiden call to the Port of Amsterdam

On Thursday, March 1, 2007, the brand-new ship Höegh Shanghai, belonging to the Höegh shipping company, made its maiden call to the Port of Amsterdam. The vessel moored at the Ceres Westhaven, carrying a cargo for the Koopman Car Terminal. The Höegh Shanghai is the first of a series of eight new ro-ro ships ordered by Höegh.

Biggest container ship to have ever visited Port of Amsterdam

On February 23, the MS Hong Kong Express called at the Port of Amsterdam. It is the biggest container ship to have ever visited this port. The Hong Kong Express has a length of 320 meters, a width of 43 meters, a deadweight tonnage of 100,000 tons, as well as a capacity of 8,000 TEUs.
