2004: a great year for the Port of Amsterdam
9 June 2005

The port has had an excellent year with the entire region showing a record goods transhipment level of 73 million tons and much new activity. ‘Source’ is the Municipal Port Authority’s recently published annual report for 2004. The city too benefited from its harbour. The Port Authority realised a net income of EUR 18.8 million, compared to EUR 7.7 million in 2003.

The greater profit is mainly the result of more seaport-dues income and port- sites lease transactions. Port income will be deposited into the city coffers and will thus benefit all ‘Amsterdammers’.
