| New VOPAK terminal to double capacity at the Port of Amsterdam |

Tank terminal operator Vopak has decided to substantially increase the capacity of its storage terminal for oil products that is currently under construction at the Port of Amsterdam. The planned 620,000 cubic metres of storage capacity at the designated site on the west side of Afrikahaven will be increased by a further 570,000 cubic metres. |

| Port of Amsterdam sees a slight drop in transhipment in 2009 |

The Port of Amsterdam’s total transhipment volume for 2009 is expected to reach around 73 million tons; a 3% decline compared to 2008. The strong growth of oil products has meant that the recession has only had a limited impact on the transhipment figures. |

| Investing in a smart port via Port of Amsterdam's Sustainability and Innovation Fund |

From today, companies in the North Sea Canal Area will be eligible to receive a subsidy from a special fund for sustainable development (the Port of Amsterdam Sustainability and Innovation Fund). The Amsterdam city council approved the fund on 30 September. Each year the Port of Amsterdam will award two million euro in subsidies and in the start-up year 2009 it expects to award some 1.5 million euro. |
| 'Turn-key' Innovative Crane Ship Delivered |

On Friday August 28th, the newly build inland waterway crane ship ‘Transferium’ was christened in Sremski Karlovci by Mrs. Jelena Marjanovic, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Regional Development, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, H.E. Mr. R. van Dartel. Earlier this week, the ship successfully executed her trials on the Danube, in the area of Novi-Sad. This highly innovative ship was designed, build and fully outfitted by Shipyard Begej. The ship will be used in the Dutch seaports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam to pickup and deliver containers at the customer’s doorstep. |
