Facilitating port-related activities involves an environmental responsibility. The Port of Amsterdam is working closely together with port-located companies to ensure having clean air, cleaner water, clean soil, a safer environment, less inconvenience for the surrounding area (noise, dust, risk and smell) and less discharge of carbon dioxide (CO2).

The Amsterdam port is an international area. It is home to many companies and has been providing job opportunities at different educational levels. The Port of Amsterdam has launched several initiatives to confirm that the port is an attractive employer and also to realise a match between employment-related supply and demand.
