On Wednesday morning, 2 November, MV Hestia visited the city of Amsterdam for the very first time. It recently departed from the Harlingen shipyard, to load up for its 'Maiden Voyage' to the United Kingdom.
This morning the 90 meter long ship was moored at Havenkom A of Coenhaven awaiting its first cargo, 3.000 ton of soya beans from IGMA destined for Liverpool.

The Port of Amsterdam, together with Cargill Shipping Agency, presented a shield to the captain and crew of 7 men as a token of their 'Maiden Voyage' and first visit to the Port of Amsterdam.

MV Hestia will be shipping dry bulk in particular between ports in North-western Europe, but it may also be used for transatlantic transport if required. The ship has been provided with a 1,440 kW Wartsila 8L20 engine and a 'state-of-the-art' navigation system supplied by SAM Electronics GmbH, making MV Hestia an ultramodern ship perfectly meeting the European shipping requirements.
